TU 142 Aircraft Museum is also called as TU-142 Aircraft Museum or Aircraft Museum is a preserved Tupolev Tu-142 located in Vishakapatnam. It was established in 2017. Foundation stone of TU 142M Aircraft Museum was laid at Ramakrishna Beach, Visakhapatnam by Shri Nara Chandrababu Naidu.
The TU 142 Air Craft Museum is a very unique museum where in an actual naval aircraft has been transported to its present location and converted into a museum. The entire complex is well designed with lots of information boards. Equipments like sonobuoys, propeller, engine , survival kit, anti submarine missile, data recorder etc are displayed with all details.
The work on assembling of decommissioned TU-142 fighter aircraft to convert into a museum is said to have cost ₹3.5 crore. The project development cost was 14crore.
The aircraft served 29 years with the Indian Navy and had 30,000 hours of accident free flying by the time of its retirement on 29,March 2017.
